Flood Box Protection
Safeguard Electrical & Mechanical Equipment From Flood Damage
When floodwaters hit, they can submerge electrical panels and damage mechanical equipment, leading to expensive repairs, downtime, and safety risks. That's where our fully customized flood box comes in - it's designed to protect equipment that can't be moved.
Most flood protection products simply don't cut it, especially when ventilation is a factor. Many standard designs overlook the need for airflow, which can be a big problem for certain equipment. At Flood Risk America, we can customize a flood box that allows air flow while keeping water out.
Whether you need a simple flood box enclosure or a fully integrated flood protection system, we can provide solutions that go beyond the basics.
FRA Flood Panels
Custom-Fit Flood Box Protection
When our flood experts conduct a flood risk assessment of a building, one of the key areas we focus on is the location of mechanical equipment and utility rooms. Some of the most important equipment we protect include generators, electrical boxes, gas pumps, wastewater treatment, and other vulnerable equipment that can't be moved. FRA's custom flood box protection offers the following benefits:
- FEMA Compliant
- Insurance Approved
- Corrosion-Resistant
- Lightweight
- Easy-to-Deploy
- Marine-Grade Material
Flooding doesn't just threaten your mechanical equipment - it puts your entire property at risk. Flooded equipment can lead to safety hazards, costly repairs, and extended downtime that can render a building inoperable. Every building has mechanical equipment and when they are at risk of flood damage, it becomes a top priority for us to protect.
Built to Withstand Harsh Saltwater Environments
The gasket for our flood box is a closed cell sponge Neoprene/EPDM/SBR blend. This combines the best qualities of all three rubber elastomers, which creates an excellent gasket material used in many indoor and outdoor gasketing applications requiring a temperature of -40 °F to + 200 °F.
Neoprene/EPDM/SBR closed cell sponge is resistant to ozone, sunlight, and oxidation. With a superior gasketing system, FRA's flood box protection is designed for water treatment plants, chemical plants, and multiple-use facilities.

What types of mechanical equipment are most vulnerable to flooding?
HVAC units, electrical switchgear, generators, boilers, and other critical infrastructure located in basements or ground-level mechanical rooms are particularly at risk.
Can a flood box protection solution still allow for ventilation?
Yes! Some mechanical equipment requires airflow, and we offer specialized flood box protection with ventilation to maintain proper function while keeping water out.
Can I make my entire building floodproof, not just my mechanical equipment?
Absolutely. We design comprehensive flood panel systems that protect your entire property, making it resilient against rising water and extreme weather.
How much does flood box protection for mechanical equipment cost?
Costs vary based on the level of protection required, building size, and specific solutions used. A flood risk assessment helps determine the most cost-effective approach for your needs.
Does flood protection affect insurance premiums?
Many insurers offer lower premiums for properties with flood mitigation measures in place. Investing in flood protection can reduce long-term costs and liability.
